Feature Friday - Glamtastik

Today's featured shop is Glamtastik! I've always had a fondness for burlesque. I don't know why. And I've always wanted a corset or full burlesque outfit. So when I stumbled on Glamtastik, I about peed myself!

I covet this. I need this. You don't even know! I drool a little everytime I see it.

An Adorable Zombie Bear

Well, I did it! I made a fantabulous zombie bear!!!!! Oh yeah! I'm quite happy with how he turned out.

Ack! He's so cute! Look at his blood soaked lips! Look at his boney arm!!

He's five-way cotter pin jointed, so his head, arms, and legs can move a full 360 degrees! His feet are weighted for extra stability, and he's able to stand and sit all by himself! What a talented zombie!

He's the first of many, as I'm addicted to bear making now!!

Confessions of a Coffee Crazed Nurse

Yesterday at work it was quite busy. Especially for a Sunday. Lots of babies born and doing wonderfully. However, we did have a baby die yesterday. Which is certainly not easy and puts a somber mood throughout the birth center.
Mom was only 25 weeks and 4 days into her pregnancy. She had been on bedrest for the past 5 weeks, as her water broke at 20 weeks. (Keep in mind that a "term" pregnancy is 40 weeks). Yesterday she abrupted (her placenta detached from the uterine wall). This is a life threatening emergency. She was rushed to the OR for a c-section. Baby was born and weighed 2.2 pounds (which is actually HUGE for a 25 weeker), was stabalized and taken to the NICU. However, his lungs were too underdeveloped. The NICU staff were unable to save him. Never an easy situation.
I can't divulge names, but if you would please keep this family in your prayers, I know it would mean the world to them.

Yes, yes. I neglected my blog this weekend. It was a busy weekend filled with family and friends and photoshoots. Not to mention that I have a few new critters in the works, and a couple of custom orders.

And I work today and Wednesday (and the weekend too, but who's keeping track?).
