Raffle to help victims of the Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado
I live in Colorado and have many friends displaced by the Waldo Canyon fire, several of whom have lost their homes. What's the Waldo Canyon fire? It's an over 16,000 acre wild fire burning in the Rocky Mountains that has so far claimed 347 homes and 2 lives. At this point it is about 25% contained. There are still around 10,000 homes at risk for burning and 30,000 people evacuated.
I'm in cahoots with Ima Zombie of Zombies & Toys for a raffle to raise money for the Waldo Canyon fire. Everyone who donates $5 to the Waldo Canyon fire is entered into the drawing to win a custom zombie bunny made by me!

Ayden loves Garden of the Gods
In Colorado Springs, we have a gorgeous park called Garden of the Gods. It has fabulous trails and the most amazing and HUGE red rock formations.
And Ayden loves playing on the rocks!
Look at that cheeky grin. He's a ham for the camera.
Look! There's a zombie over there!!!! (yes, he actually said that)
Shoot it!!!! Yep. He started "shooting" at the zombie. See? Can't you picture him making pew pew noises?
My son, zombie hunter.

First Snow
We had our first snow last week. It wasn't much, but too tempting for Ayden! He couldn't even change out of his jammies.
Snow balls! And Hulk pajama pants.

Dusting the snow off his trike. He didn't ride it - just didn't want the snow on it.
He can't wait until we get "tons" of snow. I think I ought to get him snow pants :D

Project 365
This is from a small lake in Breckenridge, Colorado. We took a mini vacay there a couple of weeks ago. The fish were HUGE and you could feed them! Yay!
Ayden loved watching them. You'd toss in bread and they would leap out of the water at it!

Project 365
We had horrific wind last night. It blew our table into our water feature. That table is actually pretty heavy.
And yes. That's snow on the ground. At the end of April. That's Colorado for you. Although Monument (about 20 miles from my house) got 18 inches.
No shit, y'all.

Wildlife!
I live in Falcon, Colorado. Just a little east of Colorado Springs (about 60 miles south of Denver). Falcon is a little rural. Jeremy (my hubby) and I have 1/2 an acre of land. Not a ton, but definitely a whole heck of a lot more than if we had stayed in the Springs (where I swear you can touch your neighbor's house just by lifting your arm). We're also surrounded by fields. Vast open fields. I didn't like it at first (I'm a mountain girl), but I've grown to love it. The grasslands have a beauty all their own (and it helps that the Rocky Mountains are less than an hour away!). It's also very cool to have pronghorn antelope practically in your own backyard!

We also have fox, coyote, ground squirrels, rabbits, tons of birds, hawks and mice. Here's a gorgeous fox that watched us for a while. I love his eyes!
Now, these guys are on the outside of our back fence. Before we had the fence up, they would come into our yard and up on our porch. And I gotta tell ya, pronghorn make a sound very similar to the velociraptor 'cough' sound in Jurassic Park. Seriously. Kinda creepy.
Running off after Zan wnet barking after them:
And yes, this is right by our house. The fox walk along the top of our back fence. And they're fun to watch, pouncing on mice! I love where I live!
