I got a rat!!

On Mondays I normally share a nursing story. But today I'm going on hiatus to share something new and exciting with you. I got a rat!!!! Yay! If you've folloed me at all, or have seen my shop, you know I love rats. My husband is allergic to everything with fur except for dogs. I've wanted a rat, well, since we've been together, but haven't been able to have one. Jeremy was nice enough to let me get one!! Right now it is still a trial. If his allergies act up I won't be able to keep him (I do love Jeremy more than a rat!), but I'm hoping it'll be ok.

His name is Murry and he's about a year old. He's very sweet and gentle. Ayden loves him, and Zan tries to get him to chase her!

Oh, and I want to apologize for the layout. Blogger won't let me move the images around. At all. No matter what I do. Stupid blogger . . .

Zombieland

Ahhhh, Zombieland. With my love of zombies, I'm sure everyone figured I'd see this movie. And I did!!! And it was freaking AWESOME! Seriously. Hilarious and good 'ol zombie fun! Oh the shenanigans!

I made a trick or treat bag! Yay! Though it's definitely not a traditional style bag . . . . but since when do I do things traditional or normal?

Feature Friday - Jitter Bug Bark

Todays featured shop is Jitter Bug Bark. This is one of the very first shops that I "hearted" on Etsy and I just recently found her on deviantART. Tanya (the brilliant tallent behind Jitter Bug), is a stay-at-home-mom and works in both plush and polymer clay. Her creations amaze and astound me. Seriously. I'm jealous of her plush skills!

She makes these fabulous platypi (is that plural for platypus?). They're so freaking cute! And each one is unique and hand sewn.

How can you not want a platypus?

I'm very much in love with her foxes. The detail in their faces (she thread sculpts them) and the expert craftsmanship . . . .*swoons*

She also has adorable polymer clay critters!

Things that make me sick . . .

I've been fighting a rather nasty cold the past few days. Aches, sore throat, cough, congestion, headache . . .you get the picture. I've also been taking care of my 2 1/2 year old son who is also sick (same symptoms but with pink eye thrown in just for fun). So I thought, why not blog about things that make me sick?

1. Sauerkraut. Yes, souerkraut. The smell alone makes me dry heave. It's so ridiculously nasty it's not even funny.

2. Oysters. My hubby eats canned oysters on crackers. It's like slurping down a wad of snot.

3. Spam. Why would anyone eat this?! It's like eating a salt lick!

4. Hair in a shower drain. Hubby has to clean the drains or I'll hurl everywhere. . . . .no, that's not my drain in the pic. I found it on flickr.

5. Puppies. Yep. Puppies make me sick WITH CUTENESS!

OMG look at how cute they are!!! Wanna squish 'em and take them home!

Christmas Rats!

I've got 17 Christmas rat ornaments! Yay! I've been working on these suckers a couple evenings a week for the past 2 weeks. Each one is sewn by hand (no machine here!) and is unique. And darn stinking cute!

A smaller group shot! These guys are small, around 2 inches and made from socks.

With a santa hat! I plan on adorning some with santa hats, some with reindeer antlers, some with scarves . . . you get the idea.

I'll be posting these guys in my shop, but my question is when? In October? Wait until November? Anyone have a suggestion?
