Confessions of a Coffee Crazed Nurse

Patient: Nurse! Nurse! I need peri-care! Where's my grape juice?! GRAPE JUICE!
Me: *banging head against wall* I'll be right there! *makes pretend gun with hand and shoots self in head*

On the med/surg floor I worked on, we had a "frequent flyer" who was probably one of the most aweful people I've taken care of. He had hepatic encephalopothy - he basically drank himself stupid. Literally. He was terribly gross. Constantly yelling out that he need peri-care (he wanted his ass and nutsack cleaned). And I mean yelling. Disturbing other patients. Wouldn't use the call bell. And grape juice. Good LORD this guy went through the grape juice. He should have bought stock in it. He was the type of patient that you were only assigned to for one day and then it was someone elses turn. Though we'd all take turns going into the room because, well, strength in numbers. I don't miss him.

And now . . . . . . David Duchovny! Why? He's pretty damn hot! I was a huge X-Files fan and have always had a crush on him. Mmmmmmm.

It's too early

I'm writing this at 6:15 am, but 've been up since 5:30. With my son of course. Watching Blues Clues (am I the only one who has the hots for Steve?).

Mmmmmmm. Yummy. And yes, these are pictures of Steve Burns, the Blues Clues guy. Hot. In a dorky kind of way . . .

Okay. Uh, moving on. Um, COFFEE! Yes. Coffee. LOVE me some coffee! So why not share some delightful coffee inspired yumminess from Etsy!

First up is this art tile by lulunjay. Combines 2 of my favorite things - goats and coffee!

You know I'd have to include some scrupmtuous coffee soap! From CampoDiFiore! Must. Not. Eat.

Haha! A coffee loving nun!! From nunofakind! HAD to share this!

I'm on my second cup'o'joe and feeling pretty good!

Mmmmmmm. Yummy.

My wish list

I wanted to share some of my favorite things on Etsy! I could spend so much money on Etsy it's really quite ridiculous. So here's my wish list. If I had the money, I'd buy everything!

First, this pendant from bunny X productions! (aka societysedso). Beautiful tentacled yummyness!

I want pretty much everything in dismantledfashions, but this dress especially. I'm a big fan of rockabilly!!

I love this shirt from binarywinter! Nautilus wings!

Nate, from Beastlies. He's so freaking cute!!

Okay, I actually just bought Nate. I had to. I need him.

And lastly, this adorable little hedgehog from aleahklay. It's so very precious!

See? I like normal things too. Not just weird, creepy things!

Feature Friday - Undead Ed

I'm all geared up for halloween and decided to feature a truly gruesome shop today in honor of that!! Undead Ed is way creepy-cool! He has the most amazing artwork and doll conversions. They make me swoon!

Who doesn't need a terminator inspired My Little Pony?!

Or an evil horned ducky? He just wants love . . .

Emo hello kitty! Awwwww, she has problems that no one understands.

LOVE this bunny!

Seriously. Undead Ed has some awesome stuff! He's very talented and twisted! Probably why I love it . . .

What to do . . .Oh! And severed bunny heads!

Yesterday I made a severed bunny head. And I plan on making more. Why? They're AWESOME! Seriously - there's gotta be a market for severed bunny heads, right?
I figured I'd share my first bunny head with you and pose a question (vogue, strike a pose . . .).
First, bunny:

See? Perfect palm size! Wheeeee!

Awwwww, he's so cute!

Now, the question:
Christmas ornaments? Creepy cute Christmas ornaments? Like severed bunny heads with a festive ribbon loop for hanging on the tree? What about small rat ornaments?

Thoughts, reactions welcome! Discuss!

Om nom nom nom!

Broncos!

Aahhhhh, those glorious Denver Broncos. Yep. They're going to have an aweful season. But I love 'em anyways!! My hubby Jeremy and I went to the Broncos preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. It was crazy fun, even though we lost.
Yay Mile High!!! Check out that horse!

Here we are looking all dorky! Whooooo!

Oh yeah! Touch down Broncos!!!

Oh noes! I haz a bad hair piece!
This guy was in front of us and we couldn't stop laughing at his toupe!
It was fun. We had a great time, got home late, and were dead tired at work on Monday. :)

Oy

Today's post is a little weird. I'm at work right now. I got off late last night after a 14 hour, very busy shift, and was too darn tired to do my blog post for today. So here we are! No fun pictures or anything (I'll make up for it tomorrow - I promise!). I did however get an update yesterday on the baby I sent to Childrens Hospital in Denver a week and a half ago. He had open heart surgery on a week ago Monday. He had a coarctation of the aorta (fixable), hypoplastic left heart syndrome (not very fixable), and no mitral valve (kind of fixable). They left his chest open after the surgery and closed him up this past Saturday. The mom was finally able to hold him on Sunday. However, even with several more surgeries scheduled, his outlook is not good. Right now it's day by day (last week it was hour by hour), but he's not expected to see his first birthday. So please send some prayers out to this little guy and his family. They need all the support they can get.
