Feature Friday - Strawberries and Cream

Today's featured shop is Strawberries and Cream! (aka Minori Design). Theresia (the creative mind behind Minori) truly makes the most adorable little critters!

I mean, look at these adorable hedgehog pin cushions!! Could the squee factor get any higher?

Her giraffe would be perfect in a baby's room. It has such a fun feel to it!

Adorable frog pin cushion!
Strawberries and Cream was recently a featured Etsy seller! Yay! You can read the interview here.
Very cool shop and a very neat lady!

I'm a Good Parent!

So yesterday I took Ayden to the gym, like I always do. We're leaving and out at the car. I opened the back passenger side door so he could get in his car seat. I opened the passenger side front door as well and set down my purse and water bottle and took off my coat. In the process of doing this, Ayden crawled up front and was pretending to drive. Yay! Ayden's driving! Vroom vroom! Yay! You put on the turn signal! Woohoo! Alright dude, now get back in your seat so we can leave.
I close the front door, buckle Ayden in his seat, and go around to the drivers side.
WHAT. THE. HELL.
Oh God. The door is locked.
The back door?
Shit. Locked.
Oh no oh no oh no oh no.
Run around to the passenger back door. Ayden is smiling. He's happy. He's laughing. Does he not sense my panic???
*knocking on the window* Ayden, honey, can you try to unlock the door for mommy? Okay, seriously dude, stop laughing and unlock the door for mommy.
No dice.
I can't believe this happened. What the hell?????
Luckily a nice lady was getting her kids into her car (conveniently next to mine) and let me use her cell phone.
Daddy to the rescue!!!
I'm so glad it was 45 degrees out and windy and I was in a tank top and capris.
Awesome.
It took Jeremy 30 minutes to get there, but the relief of seeing him drive up . . . .man.
Note to self - NEVER put your keys down when you have a sheisty toddler.

Ayden took this picture of the puzzel we put together. It's a nice artistic shot.

CHURROS MOTHER-EFFER!!

That's right - churros. A delightful Latin treat. Sometimes referred to as a "Mexican donut".

Why churros, you ask? Because they're delicious! Have you had one??? No? GO GET ONE!

Anyway, the whole point of this post is not that churros are delicious (they are), but something rather amazing to me. See, my husband Jeremy is half Mexican. His mom is full-on-hispanic. And dude, he had never had a churro until yesterday!!!!!!

He's freaking Mexican and had never had a churro!!! Seriously.

And I totally speak more Spanish than him too.

We had horrific wind last night. It blew our table into our water feature. That table is actually pretty heavy.
And yes. That's snow on the ground. At the end of April. That's Colorado for you. Although Monument (about 20 miles from my house) got 18 inches.
No shit, y'all.

So, Ayden often likes to give himself "tattoos" by drawing on his arms with his markers. Well, Jeremy and I both have a tattoo on our upper back. Apparently, Ayden decided he needed one there as well.

Well played, Ayden. Well played.

Project 365 - I'm back!!!

Yep. I totally made a Franken-Bunny

Jeremy gave me the idea to make a franken-critter. So I made one!!

A bunny head on a dog's body with a raccoon tail. An odd combo, I agree.

But he's kinda cute!
And strange.

Conversations with Jeremy

The other day, Jeremy was trimming his goatee. After I had just cleaned the bathroom. He always seems to need to shave or trim the same day I clean the bathroom. Without fail. So of course I have to give him a hard time about the hair on the sink. And then he starts trimming his eyebrows.
His eyebrows y'all.
I snicker at him.

Jeremy: What?

Me: Nothing. You're just trimming your eyebrows. You're a guy.

Jeremy: So? I have some old man hairs.

Me: Old man hairs?

Jeremy: You know, longer hairs? Old man hairs? If I had old man hairs in my nose I'd trim them too.

Me: That's just gross.

Jeremy: If I had long nose hair, what would you tell me?

Me: To trim it.

Jeremy: See? I thought that would be "gross".

Me: My point exactly.

Jeremy: *shakes his head* I don't understand you. *makes a slurping noise and wipes his mouth*

Me: Did you just drool? Are you drooling?

Jeremy: Yeah. (sarcastically) My own hair makes me drool. *mummbles something I can't quite make out*

Me: Did you just say you're being spontaneous?

Jeremy: Yes. Spontaneous. My hair makes me drool and act spontaneously.

Me: Okay. Now that's just weird. And if it were true I'd be all 'dude, you're weird'. And you'd say 'don't judge me man.' And I'd be all 'whatever! I'll judge you if I want!' and then I'd throw a donut at your head. Well, a bear claw, 'cause those are stickier.

Jeremy: *walking away* I don't get you.

Yes, I'm truly that awesome.

Today's featured shop is Bad Bird. The genious behind Bad Bird is Andrea Zuill. She has been a professional artist for 20 years, and I love her style!

Who the heck wouldn't love a bunny with nipple tassels?!?!

This owl is so adorable! And the colors are amazing!

Here's the Blue Bird of Happiness and the Little Red Bird of Crankiness. I like the cranky red bird. He's cute.

Ack! Bunny with striped socks on it's ears!

Bad Bird has the most adorable prints and embroidery patterns. I love her shop!

Project 365 - I'm Pretty Damn Awesome

Why am I awesome?

Glad you asked. Let me share things with you. I've been working out and eating healthy since mid-December. Finally inspired to get my ass in gear and lose weight.

Here - let me start at the begining. I gained over 40 pounds during my pregnancy with my son. 40. Freaking. Pounds. No joke. I gave birth weighing around 180. Ugh. So I was all 'yay! Ayden's born! Now I can lose weight!'

Yeah. Totally didn't happen. Well, I got down to about 160 and kinda gave up. And then last year I had a hysterectomy and was out of commision for another 2 months. My weight went back to 170. But even though I felt like crap, I still wasn't inspired.

Until mid-December.

What happened? Our good friend (who's a photographer), did a family photoshoot. And after that, I did some "naughty" pics for Jeremy. It was so liberating! It was fun! And I wanted to do more.

But as a thinner version of me.

BOOM! Inspiration!

Fast forward to today - I now weigh 152 pounds, and have 12 to go. I feel great! I look great! I have tons more energy and I'm much happier.

ANNNNNNND I get to go shopping!!!!!!!! That's right. None of my clothes fit! Woot!

Case in point - I thought I would never fit into these pants again. Like, ever. And now? They're too big!!! They fall off me! I fit into 2 pairs of pre-pregnancy pants!!!!!!

That's why I'm awesome.

A 2-Headed Bunny to Love

So I made that 3-headed squirrel yesterday, so I figured I may as well make a 2-headed bunny.

They have matching mohawks! Yay! How awesome is that?!

Gotta love conjoined twins . . . . .

OMG 3-HEADED SQUIRREL!

So yesterday I got a wild hair up my butt and I decided I needed to make a 3-headed squirrel.

Why?

Because it's awesome!

I named him Cerberus. You know, after the 3-headed dog that gaurds the gates of Hades. I think it suits him.

Two of the heads are kinda crazy.

I like crazy.

This is Ayden's idea of putting on his shirt. He's pretty dang awesome.

Bleh

This is totally how I feel today. So I'm actually doing something I never do - I'm skipping the gym this morning.
Yeah. I know.
Which means I'll need to make it up tomorrow . . . .but I can do that.
Today I'll be lazy and sew.

Feature Friday - Golden Pond Studio

This week's featured shop is Golden Pond Studio. Jessica is a fellow Owls Team member, and makes the most lovely jewelry.

All about the crystals . . . .this bracelet is simply gorgeous! I LOVE the green crystals!

This copper waves pearl bangle is just fabulous! It has such a nice organic shape to it, and I'm a sucker for freshwater pearls!

The chain gang necklace has got to be one of my favorites! It's simple and sexy and just a litle bit dangerous!

And this coiled wire bangle is so unique and amazing! I haven't seen anything like it!!
Jessica also has some fab destashes of crystals and other fab goodies!
You need to check out Golden Pond Studio - she's sure to have something you love!

Zombies and Rats, Oh My!

I've been sooooooo productive lately! Which I'm totally impressed with!

That's right - I impress myself. Booya.

A zombie unicorn! With a disemboweled bear on it's horn! Why? Why the hell not!

The little bear comes off. Because that's way more awesome than it not coming off.

This is Ivan the rat. He's obsessed with everything feline. He left yesterday to his new home!!

And Ian the rat. Sporting fabulous ear hair!!!
